The Antonacci Lapiccirella Fine Art Gallery is pleased to present the exhibition Walking Through Rome. Vedute romane di un artista inglese dell'Ottocento which will open to the public on December 13, 2024.
This exhibition offers an extraordinary opportunity to immerse oneself in the Rome of the past through a selection of works of great refinement, technical mastery and artistic sensitivity, an expression of the cosmopolitan charm of the Grand Tour.
On show an unpublished nucleus of 43 drawings taken from an album with private and evocative glimpses of the Eternal City executed by an English artist around 1830. Ranging from intimate impressions to monumental views, these drawings reveal not only the artist's technical skill, but also a deep emotional connection with the urban landscape. Each sheet is a fragment of memory, a testimony to the refined romantic eye of an artist who, enchanted by the timeless beauty of Rome, captured its details with a sure and inspired hand. These drawings are not only artistic testimonies of exceptional value, but also windows on a period in which travel was an intellectual discovery, an experience destined to enrich the spirit and personal knowledge.
An extraordinary immersion in the timeless art and charm of Rome.
